The Technical Drawing Minor course is an elective course available to 9th grade students that provides them with a glimpse into the world of mechanical drawing. Students start off the year learning how to draw using various hand tools still used in industry today. They then apply these skills to create a variety of drawings including isometric and orthographic shapes.

About a quarter into the school year, students put down the hand tools and are introduced to Autocad 2012. This software program is not only the industry standard for computer aided drawing software, but it is also used at North Penn High School in conjunction with Autodesk Inventor.

Students will meet with Mr. Hollstein for a total of 60 class periods a year.
